“Fill in the Blank” – Car Seat Headrest

Coming off the album, Teens in Denial, “Fill in the Blank” is the musical equivalent to a four minute long eye-roll. On the chorus, frontman Will Toledo recites his totally lame parents, singing, “You’ve got no right to be depressed/ You haven’t tried hard enough to like it.” Hearing this song, it makes sense that Toledo would name his band “Car Seat Headrest” after deciding to record the vocals of his first album in the backseat of his car for privacy. Like every angsty teenager, Toledo just wants you to leave him the f*ck alone.
